I would be concerned if I saw a child this young doing that

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05794961331102164931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2766979281274584481.post-83582686598751611532015-06-19T08:24:35.935-04:002015-06-19T08:24:35.935-04:00When I was raised in the 70s/80s, my parents would...When I was raised in the 70s/80s, my parents would have (and did) let me do this often. In the 2010s, no way would I let my kid do that unsupervised. There are just to many "what ifs" out there now. Now, I would walk or run along with her while she rides. Why not get the whole family involved in some exercise? Have her ride along with you while you walk or something and that way she still gets her fun bike time!Rebooting Myselfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11117342048689133649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2766979281274584481.post-28688334437281945972015-06-18T23:32:05.073-04:002015-06-18T23:32:05.073-04:00I'm sorry but I absolutely wouldn't let he...I'm sorry but I absolutely wouldn't let her ride out there unsupervised. I too live in a very tiny town, just 1000 people and it's considered very safe. I am a worrier but I would still be concerned about a lost/distracted driver speeding down the street or someone looking to abduct.

It's sad that the world is very different from the one we grew up in but better safe than sorry.

I agree with the previous commenter that 9 or 10 would be better.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2766979281274584481.post-26104598435971067962015-06-18T21:18:10.931-04:002015-06-18T21:18:10.931-04:00Nope, nope, nope and nope. I would not even let my 5.5 yr old be out unsupervised period. I am in no way judging you. I just personally would not do that unless someone was outside watching them. I didn't go off playing on my own outside till 8 so that is more of my comfort level to even do the walk through the grass to the parking lot to ride alone. I do understand you live in a small village though and it is different there. Mrs Swanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15160136199959601329noreply@blogger.com
