I'm Ready!

For the past 3 months, I have floundered....bounced around in weight and motivation.  I wound up on the losing scale of things.

My last weight in was 247.00 lbs.  Alone in the past 2 weeks, I gained 6.50 lbs.  I did that because I ate whatever crap passed by and reacquainted myself with the ass marks in the lazy boy.  I kept saying "tomorrow" and then out came the chocolate bunny from Easter or the extra cupcake, etc.

I woke up today, not really remembering I wanted to make a difference.  I was up about an hour before I needed to be and actually told myself I was just going to go back to bed for half an hour.  Then I decided I would use this quiet time at home to write my blog and have a couple of poached eggs for breakfast.

See....I have missed you guys!  I'm sure I've lost a few readers and that is my fault.  I miss blogging too.  I think I do need to re-evaluate the blogs I follow and cut back just to keep it realistic for myself.  I need to do better at commenting on other blogs too.  I have been reading them, but not unlike everything else, say I will come back and comment later...and well....we know how THAT has been working for me!

So, I'm back...back to saying no to ice cream, walking my butt off and counting calories.  Be prepared for an influx of blog posts too, as I catch you up on my life for the past few months!

I suck!  Still!

While it's fair to argue that I don't suck quite as much as the month before...I still can't brag from the roof tops how awesome I am!

Since I can't just admit to not being focused or motivated, I will give you my excuse.

The nice weather!  Yup!  I am totally complaining about winter receeding.  Here's the thing, all winter long, I had a routine!  I got everything I needed to get done by 8 and put the kids in bed.  From there, I went and jumped on the treadmill for an hour.  Now that the nicer weather is here, we are outside in that magic hour between 7 and 8...the kids are going to bed a bit later and then I tell myself it's too late.

This week I have managed to get out of work earlier than usual and head to the local trail before I go home.  I'm hoping for a stronger June.

Let's take a little looksie!

And how is my fancy dancy map that my walking partner, Julie, put together for me?

The Truth of Tuesday Night

Not a whole lot to report for this week.

It was our annual potluck and awards night and I hosted it at my house.  That means I don't attend weigh in, because I am too busy setting up.  I don't anticipate the scale would have moved much or in the right direction at least.

It was a lovely evening and it's so nice for us all to come together and give ourselves and others a pat on the back for all the hard work.

I did manage to snag a few "awards" myself!

Top Left:  I was the monthly best loser for June 2013, with a loss of 3.75 lbs

Bottom Left: Certificate of appreciation for being leader of our group

Right:  Recognition for losing 25 lbs since joining

Now to keep that up!

Wednesday's Weekly Goals

For the longest time, I was participating in a Friday Link Up to post your goals for the upcoming week.

I loved this link up, but sometimes found it inconsistantly posted.  Combine that with the fact that I run my weight loss from Wednesday to Tuesday, and it stopped working for me.  Because I loved it so much, I decided to do my own thing on Wednesdays.  Feel free to join me if you like.

Goals For The Week:
  • Walk my required km for each day - 5.70 km
  • Add an extra 1 km each day to catch up on behind km this month
  • Be more conscience of what I am eating
  • Lose weight, no matter the amount
Exercise

I have kept it pretty low key this week.  Since April, I have gotten myself out of my regular routine of exercise.  I went from walking at least 45 minutes on the treadmill each night to hunkering down in the chair with my computer, eating chips and ice cream.  So not ok!

Food

See the above mentioned post!
I haven't done well with maintaining a good balance of food.  I pretty much decided to eat what I want, when I want.  While a handful of chips it's much....times that by 4 over the course of the day and it adds up to pointless nutrition.

If I can get both of these things in order, I should lose weight no problem.  I have decided to not log my food yet...mostly because I just hate doing it.

How is your week looking?  What are your goals to keep yourself motivated and on track?

The Truth Of Tuesday Night

I mentioned on Sunday that I am starting over.

Time for a fresh start and that includes with my weight in's.  I have missed a couple of posts, but that's alright, because in my attempt to start anew, let's not look back and remember what ground I have lost, but rather, start from now and see where I need to go.

This week's weight:  243.00 lbs

My TOPS meeting was great tonight.  We had a guest speaker (who also happens to be a friend) come out and do a wonderful and interactive presentation on exercises you can do at home or while away with little to no equipment.  She came well prepared and even provided us with an excellent list of exercises, equipment and websites.

It's just what I need to get that motivation moving.  Here is to a great week!

Happy Blogiversary To Me!

Two years ago today, I started this new chapter in my life.  I decided to take a leap of faith and chronicle my weight loss journey in this blog.  I don't know what the weather was like or really recall what I was feeling...today however, is sunny with a beautiful breeze.

If I'm being honest, I feel defeated!  For the month of April and May I have pretty much given up.  My motivation to eat well and exercise are non-existent.  I haven't blogged in nearly 20 days, including my regular weekly post.  I have hardly even read up on the blogs I follow either.

Starting tomorrow (yup, it's a Monday!)  I am refocusing and re-committing to this blog.  I need to amp up the exercise and cut down on sugar and junk.

Who's in with me?  I have some blogging buddies who seem to be in the same funk....let's group up and do this together!

I suck!  TOTALLY, UTTERLY SUCK-O-LA!

April was a terrible month....it just fell apart and I never was able to put it back together.  I was down for a week with the flu, easter and birthdays filled the month and I got into the mentality of "I blew it already, let's just forget about it and get back on track later!"

Here's the thing....tomorrow never came and if I'm being honest, it still really hasn't.  I have gotten back into the exercise, but the food aspect is still out of control.  I'm disappointed that I went from being 29 km ahead of the game to 5 km behind!

My goal for this month is not to be behind in km for one single day.  So far so good.

Let's take a look with pictures, shall we?

Turns out I am just on the edge of Ohio, camped on the side of the road!  Maybe the Impala broke down.

And here is my fancy map, courtesy of my partner Julie....who's kicking it, BTW...go check her out!
